My source of inspiration and creativity
My stories may begin on paper, but inspiration often starts somewhere else. Discover the cities, landscapes and places that made me stop, look twice and occasionally get hopelessly distracted. From historic European cities, to open landscapes in North America and the many contrasts in Asia, these are the places I long to see, love to write about and dream to visit someday.
Europe
Wander through centuries-old cities, along grand squares and past medieval castles with me. All places that seem made for fantasy stories. Europe is the place where history, atmosphere and beautiful nature constantly cross paths.
North America
From the vibrating metropoles as New York City, Los Angeles and Chicago to vast, rough landscapes that seem to go on forever: North America has a way of making everything feel bigger. My number one travel destination fore sure.
Asia
Asia calls to me due to its many contrasts: old traditions beside futuristic cities and serene temples not too far from neon streetsigns. And as a huge Disney fan, one of the continents where you’ll find many Disney parks.
Behind the stories
I’m Natasja Bartholomé, a Dutch fantasy writer and travel blogger. I write fantasy and historical romance, but on my site you’ll just as often find me wandering through old cities and amazing landscapes that spark new ideas for my novels. Because travelling is a big part of who I am and therefore often finds its way into the fantasy worlds I create. This website is a tribute to those two things.
